The show is part of the V&A’s Conscious Style day, an event to explore the growing popularity of ethical fashion, with swishing, styling workshops, talks and the fashion show, all taking place in the V&A’s new Sackler Centre for education.
The fashion show will feature high street and one-off pieces by labels such as Noir, Del Forte, People Tree, Stuart & Brown, Amana and Wildlifeworks.

You may already know about UniquEco’s FlipFlop(i was) project, which makes and sells consumer items from thousands of discarded flipflops that wash up daily onto East Africa’s beaches. We are very excited to announce that UniquEco has been chosen as one of the 12 finalists (out of over 700 applicants) in the annual BBC World Challenge. This promotion is sponsored by the BBC, Newsweek and Shell to bring awareness to small eco-social responsible companies around the world. Ethical Fashion Forum Workshops
New Entrepreneurs
New Entrepreneurs aims to help all budding fashion entrepreneurs learn about sustainable business practices. A series of two-hour fashion specific workshops will offer you the opportunity to learn from pioneers in the ethical fashion industry. The New Entrepreneurs website will feature downloadable resources to guide you through core elements of the business planning process and inspiring case studies of successful ethical brands.
Workshops
The New Entrepreneurs will explore sustainable practices ranging from eco design to ethical marketing. The programme will introduce you to the ways in which businesses can support and benefit the people behind their products; reduce their impact on the environment through sustainable manufacturing processes and develop effective marketing tools to communicate sustainability to consumers.
The workshops will focus on four key areas and will be held at The Fashion & Textiles Museum in November 2008 and again in January 2009; each workshop will be facilitated by two fashion industry leaders, who have particular expertise in the specific area of business planning.

Participants who complete at least three of the four available workshops, will be invited to a one to one business planning day after which a business plan can be submitted to a competition.
Competition winners will be offered a five week summer internship with a leading fashion business, focusing on gaining experience in areas ranging from ethical PR and marketing, to design, wholesale and fashion buying.
